We're close to 800 members. (And that's with me deleting over 150 for non-participation). Very gratifying. Very exciting.
We're doing boat and shore dives all the time. The boat charters, especially, are well sought after by members because we're getting amazing prices when we charter he whole boat. I don't take anything off the top, so the discount gets passed directly to the members. Commercial dive boat outings don't HAVE to be expensive.
We just had an amazing event last month wherein we showed The Cove in a beautiful theater (for free), had a pre-movie cocktail mixer at the adjoining West Coast Tavern, and had a Hollywood actress, Kelly Hu, attend with us throughout. What a powerful film. Kelly and the rest of the audience were moved to tears.
We just performed a group buy of steel tanks from a local dive store after a competitive bidding process. We selected the lowest bidder... and 80 members participated in the buy... purchasing a total of almost 100 tanks. The prices we received were truly amazing... and our members responded! Nice!
