nikonos and aqualens

Has anybody experienced using the aqualens on a Nikonos V? I obtained a new aqualens and installed in with a Nikon 16mm on a Nikonos V equipped with a subalert. However, I have not tried using it underwater because I have doubts regarding the integrity of the seal (waterproof). The subalert indicates that the seal is not fullproof its gauge shows no increase in the internal air pressure inside the camera and aqualens. Any similar experience?

I have an aqualens and a nik V. I have yet to use them u/w and considering using the lens with an ROV i'm working on.
