Ok so I am traveling to Cozumel Sept. 27- October 2nd I am going to use Dive paradise for diving and plan on being picked up at what ever hotel I choose as long as they will pick up there.
I am a 27 year old male going by myself and o yeah I am single to and like to have fun. I am looking for the all around best place for me so maybe entertainment at the hotel bars, music, etc. and also pretty close to town. Here are the places I am down to if you could please help me out I would appreciate it.

Thanks fellow Scuba boardersFA is a long way from town and pretty isolated. Casa del Mar less so, but still a $8-10 cab ride each way. HC is closer, and Barracuda is pretty much in the thick of it. If you want to be close to the night life (what there is of it on Cozumel), I'd say the Barracuda.

Have you looked at Casa Mexicana or Suites Bahia. Not that much going on in the hotels but both are in the middle of town and very very close to the action.

Barracuda for sure.
Afternoons til 4, 20 something crew ship crew hang at the bar and pool. Plenty of eye candy. and music. Divers and many locals hang at the pool side bar at night. Big Mega store across the street. Senior Frogs, Carlos and Charlies, Margarita Ville all within one block. Dive Paradise on site. From your wishes this is the place you described.
BTW you should be able to get the room for 65 a night all tax's included this time of year!

Agree with Lou on that. Very short walk to the downtown core, plus convenient re your other concerns. No Name Bar & the waterfront section looks like this.

If you want to be in town, go with Cuda. If you want to be close to town, go with Hotel Cozumel. Dive Paradise has on site locations at either and will work well.

We will be at the Barracuda in November and the deciding factor for us was location, location, location. If you decide to stay there I hope you will post a mini report when you get back.

Villablanca to town was 70 pesos or $6US last week and I think CDM would be the same, but it is a very quiet place at night and the $12 round trips do get to be a bit much for a single still. I agree with the rest of your post of course, and the others that suggest Baracuda from what I have heard as the liveliest, but then I don't mix partying & diving: dangerous!
Bflem I don't know anything about your dive history if any since you withheld that, but I do hope you have DAN's top dive accident plan. Your drinking may not be a problem if you match every beer or shot with a 12 oz glass of water, but honestly I've never seen anyone drink that way other than with dinner wines.
Have a good trip...! :eyebrow:

Thanks everybody and Don I am not planning on partying that much I have a pretty good dive history. I am also a Paramedic and I know how the body is effected by diving and drinking. I just want to be around lively people to keep the tempo up.

Ok thanks, when you withhold all that info - it leaves one to wonder, but still hope you have DAN dive insurance - at least middle plan.

Have a good trip...! :eyebrow:I 'm not sure but I thought that the line for the next bump up of taxi fares is between Villablanca and Casa del Mar. That's what I was thinking, anyway when I said $8-10. It could be $6, though, the same as from Villablanca and Blue Angel.
How do you know how much the OP drinks?

I think that Blue Angel to CDM zone to town was $5 last year, $6 this year.
I don't, but he didn't give any info until I aksed, and the tone of his post set off my alarms - so much for my guess work. Now he has explained "not planning on partying that much I have a pretty good dive history. I am also a Paramedic" which is reassuring. I've just seen too many divers leave in ambulances, half of them alcohol related, so I guess I may be a little overly cautious about such.

I stayed at Hotel Cozumel the first week of August and loved it. Used the orbitz promo and saved $200. Can't beat that.
