View Full Version : Guess the Wreck
wetman August 24th, 2003, 09:40 AM This one may not be too difficult. wetman August 25th, 2003, 08:50 AM OK. This shot may give it away then: pufferfish August 25th, 2003, 08:56 AM How about we guess the locale first. Looks like Toby water to me? Of course I don't see a 'pile of lumber' so maybe not. :D FreeFloat August 25th, 2003, 09:02 AM Looks very interesting! And shallow! I'm always looking for interesting shallow things to dive! Good pics wetman! Boy you must have had great vis that day! wetman August 25th, 2003, 09:10 AM Well, the vis is certainly marvelous there and it was a nice sunny day on saturday so lots of light at depth. I've got some more i'll post from a different wreck but those shots may be too easy and give this wreck away. I'll give a hint on this one: I didnt want to take my camera on this dive - nasty current. steve pufferfish August 25th, 2003, 09:57 AM How about the Lillie Parsons? wetman August 25th, 2003, 10:17 AM bingo FreeFloat August 25th, 2003, 10:31 AM That's local to me. How deep were you? wetman August 25th, 2003, 10:56 AM I think that is about 40-45ish feet that the spot those two pics are taken. Its just not an easy wreck to take shots on because you really need both hands to get down to it - you basically have to climb hand over hand down the anchor line to the ship and then crawl your way along the bottom to get to the stern so its hard to stay still and even harder to handle the camera. I basically took my wide angle off it and didnt use any flash. Thus, without the counter balance the camera floats, so i clipped it too the shoulder and it floated out of the way and up and over me. Still didnt like that though, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do. It was the strongest current i've been on on it yet as well. But its a nice wreck and there is lots of light there. I think i'm going to waste a double tank on it some day just trying to get more pictures and fighting the current. I just hate to take the wide angle lens down there - its a risky proposition! steve Tom R August 26th, 2003, 08:13 PM You forgot to mention that the Lillie was named the MaryAnna at one time. Tom
