Has anyone done Newport lately? I was wondering about the tropicals. Thinking of heading there this weekend for a couple of dives.

Weather was great however there more divers than I had ever seen. Visibility was absolutely crap unfortunately although water was quite warm. Think we only found about 5-6 tropicals this year. What repairs are you referring to? Hey John, what did they do to the ramp? The last time I was there with Chris and Earl the right hand side had a huge hole where it looked like an entire chunk fell off into the water. Definitely not ideal at the time but we made it. We were all talking about how badly it needed a face lift! reefseal September 22nd, 2010, 10:53 AM I'm taking a group of Scouts down this weekend to camp Fri/Sat night at Ft. Getty. Some of the Scouts are newly certified (to get New SCUBA Merit Badge) We'll be using Canoes, Snorkeling for Tropicals. This trip was planned way in advance so we're hoping seas cooperate. I'm setting expectation that vis will suck. I'm hoping there will be some shore accessible sites that will be calm and ok vis. Not the end of the world if diving/snorkeling doesn't happen.
