I however have little knowlege of what to look for. Could you please tell me what you where using to get such good pictures? Craig Tom R September 9th, 2003, 04:58 AM Juggernaut once bubbled... I am intersted in buying some sort of "fishfinder" to help find some wrecks. I however have little knowlege of what to look for. Could you please tell me what you where using to get such good pictures? Craig Side Scan Sonar, gives me 800 feet per pass to view. Your typical "affordable" fish finder you will have to be on top of the wreck to see anything. There are a few that give you contouring and a bit of distance, most likely a good combination when used with a sidescan unit. Tom cobaltbabe September 9th, 2003, 06:55 PM How many wrecks have you guys found this year alone? Tom R September 9th, 2003, 07:33 PM With the "hit" sans sidescan Dan and Harold got on Monday we're now at 27. Mostly scuttlings though but pretty interesting sites still. We also found a couple of cars in the inner harbour, an anchor some practice bombing sites. Tom cobaltbabe September 9th, 2003, 07:39 PM Tom R once bubbled... Tom I am sure there are alot of divers out there who will agree with me when I say thank you for all the hard work/fun, you are putting into finding new dive sites. Wonderful job. snuggle September 9th, 2003, 07:42 PM il second that marie...tom you sure have done alot of work up to this date...keep it up we are always happy to hear about what you find...have you dove any of them yet? wetman September 9th, 2003, 09:16 PM Is work the right word? Sounds like fun to me... :) Tom, are you finding any interesting bottom (i.e. natural structures) at all or is it just flat with the exception of the wrecks. steve Tom R September 10th, 2003, 08:57 AM Lots of ledges etc, around snake island, and some pretty deep holes of Howe Island with large bolders in them, this one can be access from shore. GLUE club members along with POW have placed a mooring on the Monkey Wrench and I believe it's been used a couple of times. The Monkey Wrench has a very large sail winch on it. GLUE/POW will moor two more sites this month followed by a BBQ at NTD. So there will be more diving in Kingston yet again. Tom extreme September 18th, 2003, 07:06 PM Are there any wrecks along Aldophus Reach or that general area, the western side of Amherst Island (not ducks wrecks) - either shore or boat with GPS?
