There is diving in that area, or go over to Lake Ouachita to the dam, drive to the other end and park take the stairs down to the water and get wet. You can contact Ricks dive shop for other places closer to Little Rock, his web site is Rick's Dive N Travel, I also dive Lake Degray
Good Luck

Heber Springs is great in the winter if you have a dy suit. We had 30' last year when boating died down. Bull Shoals is a good one, too.

Hey Blu Diver,

Lake Ouachita would be the choice, although it is dry-suit season at this time. We are very limited on shore access, with the only real place being the dam. The dam site requires a lot of walking down a long flight of stairs, but is a pretty decent dive. There are several sunken boats, and various other objects cabled together in the 20-30 ft range. They are all located about mid-way across the dam so I'd recommend surface swimming until you get close to half way. ( or swim at 5-10 ft)

Good luck!
