Having recently spent a thoroughly enjoyable 2 weeks in Nuweiba, Staying at the Swisscare Hotel and diving with African Divers, I feel that it would be a little selfish of me not to write and share the experience.
The Swisscare is a family hotel with a firm emphasis on service and relaxation. The rooms are huge and nicely furnished with air conditioning throughout.
The swimming pool is centrally located and spotlessly clean with plenty of loungers and, sun shades .
The hotel stands on its own section of nice clean beach with loungers and natural shades.
Breakfast and dinner are served in the resteraunt or al fresco on the terrace outside
There is a small family lounge bar with a pool table, TV, games and books.
The whole Swisscare experience is one of peaceful quiet relaxation, with service from all of the team at a level second to none.
African Divers , owned and operated by Sarah and Daniel and located directly on the beach at Swisscare , offer everything from snorkel hire, discover scuba diving experience to a wide range of padi courses, tech diving and daily diving excursions to a wide selection of shore dive sites accessed by 4x4
Typically the day starts with rendezvous at the centre for 9:45, by which time Sarah and Daniel will have been hard at work for quite some time prepping for the day.
Tanks and kit crates loaded into the trailer, the group (typically 6 to 8 divers) load into the 4x4 for a short journey to the site of the day, selected from a choice of many and invariably with no other divers to be seen.
Once the mats have been laid out and kit assembled, thorough briefings take place typically in German with Daniel and English with Sarah. The group then divides into two smaller ones, each diving a different area of the site
The surface interval often heralds the arrival of Bedouin tea to supplement the canned drinks from the cool box.
The second dive usually sees the two groups swapping places and diving different aspects of the site.
The return to the centre is around 2 to 3 pm, with the option of third dive on the superb house reef directly off of the hotel beach.
Apres dive is a light hearted social affair of chit chat and banter that takes place on the dive centre terrace overlooking the beach.
Sarah and Daniel really do go the extra mile to ensure that the African Divers experience is one to remember, it is certainly our plan to return for another holiday.
