Spearfishing Tournament @ Lake Pleasant 2011

Spearos, mark your calendar for Saturday April 2nd 2011 for the Spring Spearfishing Tournament at Lake Pleasant. As this year's event it will be open to both free and scuba divers hunting for carp and stripe bass only. Everyone had a great time the first time we hosted the event in June. More to follow as we work out the details.

Registration Fee: $50.00 until March 31st/ $65.00 after March 31st (cost per team)
Species: Stripe Bass & Carp only

Visibility is good with surface temps in low 60s. Saw a lot of fishing moving in the shallows over the last 2 days of diving @ Pleasant. Should be great hunting!

1st Place: Kirk H & Spencer S 106 points (winning team from last June's event!)
2nd Place: Mike H & Adam H 28 points
3rd Place: Isaac M & Jessy E 20 points

By all accounts everyone had a great time and asked us to host another event. Pending Park approval we intend to hold the summer series on June 25th. I will advise the details as soon as the permit receives approval.

A special thanks to Scorpion Bay Marina for allowing us to stage out of their parking lot and to Dillions for offering all involved discounts on their food purchases after the event!

We would also like to thank Speargear for sending out one of their Ultimate Speargun Holsters to be awarded to the tournaments winners! Nice way to carry your speargun while out on a DPV.
