What is the difference? Is one the predecessor of the other or a continuation of the other? I do not see ITT on UTD site anymore.
 
UTD Intro to Tech and Essentials of Technical Diving are the same class. The class was renamed in v1.6 of the Standard and Procedures.
 
As the last posted mentioned, UTD renamed all the "intro to ..." classes to "Essentials"to be more consistent.

You will see now all the classes are "Essentials of Rebreather" etc.

You may still find lots of references to the old names, but the course is the same.
