Lake Pleasant Adventure Day 2011 - June 18th, 2011

I wondering if you could add an event to your list.

April 30 is Lake Pleasant Dive Day in Peoria, AZ which is the most popular lake for all the Phoenix divers. It's a small event that has been going on for the last few years, but getting bigger.

The 2011 Lake Pleasant Adventure Day will be held Saturday,[-] April 30th[/-] June 18th, from 8am to 3pm. Set up will begin at 6 am. Details are still being worked out by Maricopa County parks. Things are changing a bit to attract more people to the event. There will be "non-scuba" activities and exhibitors, although diving is still planned to be a major part of the event.

Parks and Rec will be sending out more information to participating shops. Stop in at your local LDS and inquire. Like last year, most shops in the metro area will be participating.

What's going on with the Lake Pleasant Adventure Days? Is it still on?

Adventure Day @ Lake Pleasant is still on, although as mentioned before the format has changed somewhat. In an attempt to increase attendance the Park has decided to include other adventure activities at the event. Additionally this year divers will not have to pay to participate in any of the shop's diving activities, just the normal gate entry fee. With that change, each participating dive center is hosting their own events and providing prizes for those events or prizes for their own raffles. It would pay to check with each of the dive centers that are attending to see what they have going on. It appears as though 40 or so different vendors will be participating this year.

Inland will be hosting the following events:

0900- Underwater Golf Contest
1000- Speargun Target Contest
1200- Desert Lobster Hunt

Lake Pleasant Adventure Day is finally here! Come see what adventures are in our own Arizona backyards! This event will feature a variety of fun activities. Have you ever wanted to try boating, scuba diving, kayaking, camping, archery, fishing, glider plane rides and more?

Join us at the 10-lane boat launch area for this fun adventure. There will be activities, coupons, displays, demonstrations, raffles, freebies, goodies, handouts and more! Boat rides will be available throughout the day to the Scorpion Bay Marina and Dillon's Restaurant. Be sure to bring clothes you don't mind getting wet if you decide to participate in the water activities! Fun for the entire family!! See you there!
