Maps should auto update...

Wilma is an infamous name in North America, now retired from use in North Atlantic storms, but that's the name for the one landing now there. It's almost 4pm Monday there now.

From: Tropical Storm: 5 Day Forecast Map : Weather Underground Odd that it looks like it will make Cat-1 only after landfall, then from such a slow moving storm - jump quickly east?

I guess they're starting over in the alphabet with Anthony who looks like he is about to fall apart. From Tropical Storm: Tracking Map : Weather Underground

Have a look at the following link - it lists the names that will be used by the (Australian) Bureau of Meteorology during the 2010-11 cyclone season - Tropical Cyclone Names.

When reviewing the list, I am not sure where the name Wilma came from - it probably moved into the Australian zone of responsibility from elsewhere. Also the link also describe current policy for naming including retiring names used for significant cyclones (i.e.TC Tracy in 1974 or TC Larry in 2006).

The maps have changed some. Looks like Wilma is going to hold power as she heads east, and Anthony will move in behind her. Can't be good for Queensland at all, or GBR diving.

Anthony died out, but Wilma is making an infamous name for herself in the islands east of Australia - Cat 4 going to 5. Damn!
