I have a kid who will turn 10 in Sept. She is wishing to get her PADI c-card as soon as she can. We actually have plans to visit non-diving relatives for Thanksgiving in or near Venice. Would there be any shallow dives (she will have to be 40 feet or less) in the area. And how bad is the weather/water temps in Nov?

Thanks:happywave:

For quite a few years, the Conch Divers would have a turkey fry on the beach the weekend after Thanksgiving. Sometimes we got to dive. But the water was cold (for us), usually in the low 60's and often visibility was way under 3'. I remember one beautiful day, one diver came back and said the vis was as far as reading derepmet (Tempered, as seen from the inside of the mask). I recall said diver also did a face plant upon descent. This was beach diving, it might be slightly better further out..
