Rainbow River Drift Dives
$35/diver, $45 w/tanks & weights
2nd and 4th Saturday of each month
Enjoy a relaxing drift dive on beautiful Rainbow River near Dunnellon, FL. 100 ft+ visibility and a constant, year round 72 degree water temperature. Depths vary from 5-27 ft. See a variety of freshwater fish (bass, bluegills, carp and Florida gar), water birds diving for fish, and occasionally otters and osprey. View up close active artesian springs, seeps and small caverns. This a great tune –up dive or a relaxing, stress free FUN dive. Great for all levels of diver including newly certified OW divers or for the open water portion of a scuba refresher course (DM Mike will be available to conduct scuba refresher classes). A water taxi takes the divers to an upriver drop off point, and then you can enjoy a leisurely 1.5 – 2 hour downstream drift dive back to the park. Restroom and shower facilities are available at the park along with a snack bar, grills, picnic areas and tube and kayak rentals for non-divers. Non-diving snorkelers welcome too. Please indicate if you’ll need tanks & weights. Trip booking and equipment rental can be handled through Florida Underwater Sports http://www.floridaunderwatersports.com/. 2 diver min, 10 max. Sign-up deadline is Thursday afternoon prior to trip.
