Hi everyone,
I am certified as PADI Adventure Diver (including the 30m deep dive) and have so far dived at the Great Barrier Reef and at two places in South Africa.
Now I have enough frequent flyer miles to fly to the Middle East (and they need to be spent soon before they lose their validity) so I was considering to go diving in the Red Sea. Could you guys give me some advice?
- What is a good time? I am time wise very flexible, I was considering this autumn.
- What are good and good value places and dive shops?
- Does a cruise make sense? In Australia I stayed on a liveaboard and enjoyed it very much.
- It was recommended to me to get a Nitrox certification before going to the Red Sea because the water is so warm that you can stay down very long. What is the best way to get that certification? When I was in South Africa, the PADI dive shop there offered a purely theoretical certification course (no actual dives) for Nitrox and they told me that you can also do that online. But when I go to the PADI website all I can find is an online course that would STILL require you to do some actual dives to get the certification.
Thanks a lot for all information in advance!
