Any Erie, PA divers out there? Can you recommend any good dive sites? I'll be up there this weekend and would like to get wet.
Thanks!

BILLB September 23rd, 2003, 03:16 PM I visited a dive shop in Erie in the early spring and they said that dive boats in Erie are rare. The only one they knew of was broke. Go to Cleveland or to NY state to dive. I was not there to dive so I did not follow up except to but a very interesting book on Lake Erie Wrecks. Waterlover September 23rd, 2003, 05:06 PM http://www.osprey-dive.com/ospreyframe.html The best charter operation on the south side of the lake:) Scuba_Jenny September 23rd, 2003, 08:47 PM Please post a report. I grew up in Erie, but never dived there. I recall hearing they have a New Years Dive in the bay, usually frozen over at that time.... wb416 September 23rd, 2003, 09:49 PM Waterlover once bubbled... http://www.osprey-dive.com/ospreyframe.html The best charter operation on the south side of the lake:) I concur wholeheartedly! Just a hop-skip-and-a-jump from Erie, PA. In fact, it's the first turnpike exit after you enter New York. Definitely a nice op! Here's a few reports from my visits there: Sept 1, 2001 dive report (http://www.bayareadivers.net/wb416/reports/BarcelonaNY010901.shtm) Sept 8, 2001 (a week later) dive report (http://www.bayareadivers.net/wb416/reports/BarcelonaNY010908.shtm) June 2003 (mostly pics) (http://www.bayareadivers.net/wb416/reports/BarcelonaNY030621.shtm) Have fun! bob japan-diver September 24th, 2003, 12:54 AM Also grew up in that area and would be interested in a report as I never dove there either.
