What is the standard size of a backplate. Alot of adds have no measurements. I am 6'3". Is a standard size too short.

A standard size will work fine. I have had plenty of customers that were your same height and have no issues. Just make sure your harness is adjusted properly.

I believe DSS has different sizes. Ask Tobin, he'll know.

There are no "standards" for back plates.

Most common "one size fits all plates" are 15.5" ~ 15.75 inches tall, simply because it's possible to cut three tall from a 48" wide sheet of material.

Overall height of the plate is also only one of the fit criteria. Harness slot placement also impacts fit.

The distance from the top of the plate to the lower harness slots effects where the waist strap lands. There are no standards for slot location either, they vary from design to design.

In the DSS line at 6'3" I'd be looking at a "Large" or maybe a "Long Pattern"

If you are normally proportioned the Large is a good choice. If you are long waist-ed the Long Pattern maybe a better choice.
