Water temp was 76 degrees, visibility was 60 feet plus. We went out on Blue Tang and made 4 dives. We saw plenty of sharks on Tunnels and Area 51. The highlight of the day was diving on Loggerhead, near the Jupiter Inlet. There were more turtles than you could count and 4 large free swimming green morays. Then I had an incredible encounter with an eagle ray. It swam with me for about two minutes. They usually make a pass and take off. Right after that, I saw a lone sailfish in about 55 ft. of water. I glanced to the right and there was the rest of the school of about a dozen sailfish at about the same depth. I see them occasionally near the surface, but never at depth and in a school. Way cool! Great divers on the boat today. Thinking about diving tomorrow. I have it bad.

What were the seas? Sounds like a great day. The Blue Tang is the friendlist dive charter I have ever been on. :thumb:

Thanks for the dive report! Great day!
Blue Tang is fabulous!

We were down at the Breakers with Abernethy, viz was about 30 ft, 78* water temp, seas were building on second dive, and climbing aboard was challenging, but doable. Saw one of the largest Loggerheads (Volkswagen size) I've seen. His head was enormous! Lots of free swimming eels, and gosh, every species of tropical in the book.

It's great to live in Florida!

Nearly flat in the morning but built to 3-4 in the afternoon. The wind came quickly after lunch.

LOL!! It is a fun boat with great people. However, I need to join a 12 step group about my dive addiction. I made four dives on Saturday and just had to go out again this afternoon. Visibility increased to 70 plus feet. Seas were a fairly calm 2-3. Water temp was a steady 75 degrees with a mild current. What is WRONG with me?

Love was in the water. Spadefish were courting, sharks were courting and turtles were courting. Two spadefish were doing their vertical dance together. One had only pale stripes. The other had very dramatic black stripes. It was really cool.

It's a common afflication for those who live in the best diving port in the USA. :yeahbaby: I am sorry, but there is no known cure...

Might see you guys onboard this Saturday morning...

The Blue Tang is a awesome outfit. Great boat for deeper dives or get a group of spearos for a day of spearing. Great captain with a Great reputation..

Oh, I am so envious about the sailfish! Seeing one of those would have made our Florida trip even more incredible.

I want to move there... Maybe when we retire and then I can dive all the time! Very jealous...

Seeing a sailfish is like a big cherry on top of an already great dive. Thanks for sharing
