Hi all

The family is meeting in Del Ray Beach for our yearly get together this year. We have a mix of non-divers, snorkelers and avid divers (thats me and my wife).

Can anyone recommended a company that they've had good times with? I don't need or want a guide, I just want to dive with my buddy and be left alone.

Also, are there any shore dives or good snorkel sites in the area?

Underwater Exployers in Boynton Beach is a great call. Spacious 6-pack charter along with flexiable dive plans...

If you are looking to have a combined snorkel and scuba trip, you can go south to Pompano and Lauderdale by the Sea where there are shallow reefs. There, you can beach dive or go out with an operator like South Florida Diving HQ that takes both on its boats due to the shallow reefs. Visit One of the "Top Ten" Scuba and Snorkel Dive Locations, Sunny Sourth Florida, with South Florida Diving Headquarters I've been out with this op once and it was a pleasant enough experience.

This is a great shore dive: http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/florida-conch-divers/290550-lauderdale-sea-beach-dive.html

Also, check out the Blue Heron Bridge thread for another shore dive (slack high tide only). It can be snorkeled as well as dived.

If you only want to take divers out, a little north of Del Ray is Boynton and it is a great suggestion made by Scott. I too would recommend Underwater Explorers: https://securec7.ezhostingserver.com/diveboyntonbeach-com/indexs.cfm and if that boat is booked up, I've been out with Pelican (when Kevin was booked) and had a very good experience Pelican Dive Charters of Boynton Beach, Florida Home Page

If you don't mind driving 45 minutes north: the experience in Jupiter is unique due to the large marine animals you'll see (this is diving only since the reefs at 70-100ft). This is the op I use: http://www.jupiterdivecenter.com/
