Identical or flimsy substitute?

Is one or both made in communist china?
 
You may want to take a close look at the finish, especially the harness slots. If the edges are rough or burred, use a small file (chain saw blade sharpener) or something similar to smooth the edges. This will protect your harness webbing and make it last longer.
 
Just on a side note, if you want a made in America product I'd recommend hammerhead scuba plates. Im fairly certain they are made in the US and Ive been diving one for a while now. They were a great deal when I bought mine too.
