Hi Max,
If you compare the two plates, the generic against the Dive Rite, you'll see that they look identical, with matching slots and holes, and equal in quality. I'm certain that you would be satisfied with either.

You may want to take a close look at the finish, especially the harness slots. If the edges are rough or burred, use a small file (chain saw blade sharpener) or something similar to smooth the edges. This will protect your harness webbing and make it last longer.
Just on a side note, if you want a made in America product I'd recommend hammerhead scuba plates. Im fairly certain they are made in the US and Ive been diving one for a while now. They were a great deal when I bought mine too.
