Hi,

I dive 7mm wetsuit with a 5lb bp/w and worthington x7 100 without additional weights. I can hold a stop at 15" with 500 psi with no problem.

How much weight will I need if I switch to an Aluminum 80 - 4 or 6 lbs?

Thank you for your help.

An 80 is 4lb positive empty and a X7-100 is -2lb empty. Add 6lbs and you should be good.

I would mount two XS Scuba quick attachment weight pouches on the lower cam band (one on each side of the tank and close to your wing). Drop a 3lb weight in each one with an aluminum 80. I dive a steel 100 at home and do this when I travel in order to trim out rental AL 80s. Your rig will be a little heavier out of water, but it should feel close to diving your steel 100, less the extra air. Good luck.

I own both... I drop two 3lb. soft weights into the trim pockets, for the 80, and I'm good to go...

6 lbs it is. I appreciate everyone's responses.
Yes, I have pair of xs scuba weight pouches that I use with dry suit.
Thanks again.
