I just don't log dives
2 tanker on shallow molasses today as the deep sites had strong currents and my vessels steering was being tested after a $470 repair yesterday. 1st dive; southernmost buoy/pillar coral, light winds, 25-35FT, 90+ minutes(love those HP steels!) mdt current, blue water, viz only 35-40FT, 79-80F. eagle rays, horseye jacks, chubs and numerous groupers. nice dive but viz was so-so. 2nd dive; buoy 9(eagle ray alley), 30-40FT, 90 minutes, viz 35-40FT. usual subjects, again somewhat disappointing viz. tim's 1st dives with a new 17-55MM lens,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I'm betting that Tim is right happy with his new lens at this point. :D I found the shot of the Sweepers most impressive. It ain't easy to get a shot of a bunch of those without a lot of "shiny" spots. The gaggle of Filefish was cool. Eagle Rays don't pose like that for me. Thanks for sharing.

Kevin

Thanks Kevin. Still need to make some adjustments with lighting. It's a very wide range (17 to 55), and stuff I shot at 55 from farther away (like the filefish and cuda) look a bit muted and dull. Will try again today to see if I can get the light right. Great lens. Operator error.

Nice pix!
