I'm taking some newbies to Lobos on the 11th. I've been there a few times, but always mid-week. Given the "full" status, and hopefully with good weather, does the parking situation get bad on a full weekend? I've seen it fill up mid-week. What's a good time to get there in order to avoid a 2 mile walk to Whalers?

Thanks!

I presume you have reservations for all of you.

The answer: "it depends". On weather, time of year, major sporting events, etc. I get there a half hour before they open at 8, get the boat and gear all set up, and socialize. We usually have the boat in the water by about 8:30. I get back from dropping the trailer at 8:40. Usually, no problem, but one time I had to wait about 15 minutes for a parking spot to open up.

Given this weekend's forecast, you shouldn't have a problem.

Thanks Chuck!

I'll aim for 8am and hope for the best.
It won't be this weekend (storm), but next weekend (hope no storm). Yes, I have reservations.

It is one of the places carpooling makes sense. Unfortunately there isn't a lot of parking in Whaler's for hikers and divers. They often will put a "Full parking" sign on the road in...it doesn't work.
