Aug.31-sept.12 Scuba mau staying? looking for someplace cheap on the south end of town. I used to stay at pepita but that is too far from scuba mau--any suggestions?

Villa Blanca, Blue Angel, Casa del Mar are all really close and good deal can be found. Orbitz has good rates for Villa Blanca and Casa del Mar usually.

Blue Angel is around $755 + taxes for 7 nights, 5 days of 2 tank during September. It includes breakfast every day and lunch on boat diving days.

Pulled the trigger last night for Coz in September. Staying at Villablanca 9-3 to 9-10 and most likely will be diving with Scuba Mau. :banana:

The price is good there and the grounds are pretty nice. Plus a store close by for snacks/drinks.

Just talk with Jeanie about some night dives. I can't remember how many they need, I think it was 4 people.
The best bang for the buck is a twilight and night dive, 2 dives for $5 more.
I would do afternoon/twilight dives around the prison pen and night dives right out in front of the BA.
Not as good as paradise reef, but not bad either. Lots of critters by the pen if you just slow down and take your time.
Hey and try the Victoria Beer, that is one nice lager.

When we were in Coz in March, we were staying at Casa Del Mar and stopped in at VB and got a tour so I know what to expect. I am looking forward to checking out the shore diving there. I was very happy with the shore diving right at CDM and, from what I've heard, the shore diving in front of VB is as good or better.

My husband and I are there 9/1-13. Staying at a condo at El Cantil. I think we are diving with Jeremy with Living Underwater but not 100% sure yet.

In the past the group has met up for dinner/drinks. We got a day/place yet?

I am in full scuba withdrawl! Looking forward to Aug 30 - Sept 7, diving with Scuba Mau and staying at Villa Blanca. Up for dinner and drinks if there is a group getting together while I am there.
Leslief-I am up for some shore diving if you need a buddy.
Considering spending a day over in the Akumal area doing a couple Cenote dives to mix it up a little.

I will be there with my husband from 9-3 to 9-10. Trying to decide on dive shop - we have dove with Blue Angel and Blue XT and enjoyed both but want to try something different. We are looking at Aldora and Scuba Mau - anyone have recommendations regarding either one? Also, anyone been there before in September - I'm wondering what to expect weather wise?

Can't wait to DIVE!

Hi uriggin, I want to do it all in a few days so I am going to base myself in Playa del Carmen (PDC). I'll stay one night on Coz and from PDC I will select a dive shop that will take me to Tulum for cenote diving and up to I. Mujeres for the whale sharks. Lots of choice in PDC. I don't think there's much diving at I.Mujeres so I'd rather commute. I hope the whale sharks are still there in numbers when we get there. Good luck!!

Yes i know re not much diving in I Mujeres. I'm staying in Cozumel for 4 weeks plus for that :-) Just missing the 6th WW thingy .

It looks like most of next week is 40-60% chance of rain but what really concerns me is that the winds are out of the N/NE. They are projected to be between 6-9 MPH. How high are the winds usually when they close the port?

A lot stronger than that. There has been a 70% chance of rain each of the last few days and today was the first time it really rained for a bit. Its hot and make sure to bring bug spray.

Enjoyed meeting you and your wife Wednesday during lunch at WW. For anyone that doesn't think we live in a small world, Zman and I found out that we went to the same college and lived in the same dorm, on the same floor, albeit 19 years apart :D

82 days until I'm back in Cozumel.:)
