Suggested dive site(s) close to Clermont, FL

I need some advice. We'll be in the Clermont, FL area next month and would hate to miss an opportunity to get one or two dives in somewhere close by. Crystal River isn't too far away. Any suggestions for other dives close by on either the Atlantic or Gulf coast? We'd love to dive the Ft. Lauderdale area but it's about 240 miles away and too much for a day trip. Thanks.

Rainbow River is about 20 minutes away from Crystal River. Other than that, there's not much else in the Clermont area.

go to a spring. devils den, blue grotto or ginnie springs. the drive isn't all that bad.

I think the closest place to dive on the east coast is Jupiter followed by West Palm.

We stay in the Clermont area when on holiday, we normally drive down to palm beach and do two days diving, usually stay in a motel for the one night, its only a 2 1/2 hr drive, nothing drastic

Thanks, Deek. This has got to be a quick turnaround trip, so we'd decided to bag the whole diving thing this trip. I am looking forward to getting down to the Palm Beach, Lauderdale area someday.
