Remember this was taken through an airplane window with a compact camera, so even the high res file will be a little "fuzzy". I've sharpened it about as much as I dare without getting too noisy.
Having said all that, if anyone wants to purchase a high res file, PM me, and I'll give you a price. I don't think the monitors want us posting prices unless it is on the "classifieds" forums.
Sorry Don, no Photoshopping of cruise ships for me...I like the way they look in photos, I use them for back drops all the time.

Screensavers have to move. Are y'all referencing Wallpaper or Desktop-pic?

I'll see what I can do. Last trip I actually dove all week without the camera and found it rather liberating. Heather even said it was nice to have a real dive buddy for a change!

The main reason is significant waste of energy. A secondary reason is reduced monitor life.
In days of yore when CRT monitors took forever to wake up, we left monitors running all the time. Phosphors at the time were subject to burn-in, though, so the screensaver was born. The idea was that displaying a moving image prevented the screen burn-in and since the monitor was running anyway it might as well display something amusing or useful.
Nowadays, this isn't a problem. Even the CRT monitors still in use don't have much chance of burn-in due to design improvements (although the few plasma screens being used as monitors might). The LCD panels most computers use have no burn-in risk. More importantly, they turn on very fast so there's no need to leave them running all the time. In fact, doing so reduces the limited lifespan of the backlight (especially for the common fluorescent backlight monitors) and is a complete waste of energy.

my screen saver doesn't move, it changes photos every 17 sec. It also has a wallpaper background that changes every 4hrs
my monitor is only on here at my work office when I'm here, same at home, I don't leave my computer running 24/7. But when I have to do something away from the desk, I like to have my photography displayed on the screen, the screen saver does that.

I use family pic random slideshow as saver on one machine, my scuba pics on the other - if I leave either on long enough. You can also set it to just go dark after specified time.
