Suggestions for mid-august (2 week trip)

Hi all

I'm planning a 2 week trip to the Maldives in august, with a week on the Carpe Vita liveaboard.
I still have about 4-5 days after arriving at Male and 1-2 days before leaving.
Any suggestions?
I'd like to see maybe a different kind of diving than N, S Male and Ari atolls, and get a good feel of local culture too...
Is a trip to Gan Island is worth it?
Or the northern part?

Hi NorthO,

A trip to Gan will be something. You have to take a flight there and stay at either Equator village and do the diving or stay at Shangrila resort (a bit expensive). The diving is good in Addu Atoll. You will enjoy it. And you can also rent a bicycle and ride around from one island to the other and experience the local life.
