The Amesbury was commissioned in 1943 as a destroyer escort. It grounded on its way to being a deeper dive site and now sits in only 25 feet of water about 7 miles west of Key West. It has a huge variety of fish and is even a great snorkel spot when the vis is good. The Amesbury even participated in the invasion of Normandy. It is over 200 feet long, and has a mooring buoy at 24 37.397N 81 58.912W. Check it out!
