View Full Version : Recommended dive shops/ops in Cancun

My family and I are heading out there in a few days, was just curious as to what some of you guys recommend. We are all open water certified with 1 snorkeler joining us.
Of course we dont want to get packed like sardines on a boat so would like to stay away from massive ops. We are staying just east of the city at Oasis palm beach resort and spa. Also any shops that offer transportation would be a major plus.

We have the chance to take care of you and your family, we also manage trips to swim with whale sharks, I´ve been teaching and taking care of divers for a more than 32 years so, I know how to do this.
We are located in Playa Tortugas at the Hotel Zone and YES we can pick you up at your Hotel.
We have a 33 ft long boat with a four stroke 200 hp engine so we are fast, we never take more than 8 divers with 2 instructors (not dive masters) at the time. We love what we do. We will be more than glad to take care of you and your family.

My wife and I did our OW and AOW training with him and we've got 50+ dives with him so far, so I feel very comfortable endorsing him.

We are scheduled to use Scorpio Divers for our trip in a few days. I'll post how it went when we get back.

I am also looking at possibly heading down to Cancun. Is there a season for whale sharks down there, or are they around all year?

Whale sharks visit the area from late may to beginning of September, all boats have permits until Sept. 15. If you need more info, let me know, we are a direct operator, own 12 custom made boats and can provide competitive prices due to not being a "middle man".
