Well first off what are your thoughts of the oxycheq mach v 30 lbs wing? Also I saw a thread on sb saying that it doesn't line up perfectly with a DR bp. The guy was saying he couldn't use sex bolts and the cam straps are at an angle. Does anyone have experience with a setup like this?

I don't have a 30# wing or a Dive Rite backplate (although I do have an 18# Oxycheq Mach V wing).

If I'm not mistaken, the holes usually *do* line up between the various brands of backplates and wings, because they are standardized at 11" OC (for doubles use?). I think it may be the cam band slots that are not standardized between brands of plates and wings. Meaning that some may fit fine; others may not.

For example, I bought an STA from Sweden, wherein the fasteners are metric, and yet the holes are still 11" OC. OTOH, it doesn't even have cam band slots (you are expected to use an STA).

(My Oxycheq wing fits fine on a DSS plate, btw, but I think that is more "oh good!" rather than "guaranteed.")

I have the exact setup. DR Ss plate and Mach V signature 30lb wing. DR plate's bottom hole is not a hose, but a slot, so it can fit a range of bolt pattern. I use Mach V wing. It fits just fine. You can definitely mount the wing onto the plate with sex bolt. I use an STA myself. But I remember using the cam slot before having an STA. It fits fine too. Overall, it is a good wing, very steamline and built tought.

My Oxycheq 18# , 30 # and 42# wings fit just fine on my Stainless and Aluminum Dive Rite plates.
I am very pleased with the quality of the Oxycheq wings. Oxycheq is all I dive these days.

The grommets on my Mach V are about 1/4" too close together to properly fit the industry standard 11" on center. Fortunately my DSS wings have a variety of holes, so I make it work. But my wing clearly has a QC issue.

That said, The wing has held up well and dives well.

My DR ss plate holes fit up with my Oxycheq Mach V wing just fine. Like someone said the bottom hole is a slot so the plate has a wide range of possibilities. I started a thread on the same wing last year before I bouhgt mine this is the link. Some people argued that the wing want fit my plate, but they were wrong. By the way you dont need a STA with the Oxycheq Mach V wing so save your money.

Scubatoys.com is selling exactly this combination. I dive this for around 18 month and it is working great. I use it without an STA and I do use sex bolts to permanently attach the wing to the BP. No issues...

Me too, I own the 18lb and 30lb and both S/S and AL DR plates all line up fine.
