Coast Guard had to rescue 13 crew/divers from a Lake Michigan Charter on Saturday on the Car Ferry Milwaukee. There were small craft warnings but the 10 divers and 3 crew went out anyway. Apparently the boat flipped but no one was hurt.

Anyone here on that boat, have details on how it flipped, been out with Divers Delight?

Did they lose a lot of gear?? Depth of water at that point? Other than suits, no other gear is visible: cylinders, regs, etc. Who pays for this loss? or maybe they will attempt to recover.

I'm glad everyone is okay! I know those guys are busting the butts for little or no major financial reward. Let's hope they get up and running soon.

I believe they were on or near the Car Ferry Milwaukee when they went over, if that's the case depth is ~100-120 so gear would be recoverable. I was on a different charter boat last summer also headed, ironically, for the Milwaukee when one divers whole kit went off the side of the newly constructed dive benches. Two tanks, his BC, regs, the whole bit - no the BC wasn't yet inflated! They did recover it all over the next couple weeks, hope these guys have the same luck with their gear.

It was a group from my dive club. Much of the gear was recovered. It was not a good decision to be on the water in that boat in those conditions. But everyone is ok.
