I saw the pod of blue whales on Monday during my return trip back from diving in Catalina. Saw a horn shark, swell shark egg, great sea bass, and the rest of the usual suspects. Even saw a pair of bald eagles flying high above the dive boat.

Awesome. I saw a pod of them the other day. There is no mistaking them, even from land. When they come up for a breath, they are soooo much larger then other whales.

WOW, simply wow!! Thanks for sharing.

I forgot to mention, I also saw two of the blue whales breaching the surface. I'm amazed at how high they can jump out of the water considering their massive size.

Yeah, I agree. Last year we saw a humpback whale breaching the the surface over a dozen times on our way back to the NC shores and I remember marveling at the height he got in the air and the HUGE splash back into the water. :)

We had the good fortune to be out with several blue whales last year off Redondo during one of our dive charters. Got some nice topside snaps.

Hey! Yeah. Fortunately it was just a slight delay since we were just outside of port. The great dives with great vis and the blue whale sightings basically negates the slight delay.

It's always fun trying to match true names to screen names except yours is easy.
