Was diving the south east part of Crescent Bay on Sunday (9/25) and ran into a bunch of squid carcasses in about 40 ft of water. On average, each carcass was about a foot to a foot and a half in length from the tip to where the beak would be and none of the carcasses has tentacles present. Sorry I have no pics.

I didn't see any egg sacs lying around anywhere so I'm doubtful it was part of a squid run. Any chance this has anything to do with the new wreck in Catalina (from what I've been told it was a squid boat)?

I saw a few that I think were small Humbolts last Saturday (9/27) on the sand near Crystal Cove tide pools

I was at Crescent on Sat. and we did not see any Humbolts, but other divers there also said that there had been carcasses on the beach on Thur. as well. I can go without seeing them.
