Great photos, as always, but I'm awfully glad to find out the bird is a night heron. I saw one off the pier at Redondo but never found out what it was.
Wow! Awesome series. Love the Dirona picta close up and the second Simnia shot. Are you using any diopters with your macro setup? Great top side shots as well. Looks like delaying the dive for an extra day paid off.

No diopters. I've tried them with the wide angle with no real difference. We use the Fuji E900 that I used underwater several years ago for most of our topside shots. It's a great little camera.
You don't have to tell me that. This picture was a major driving force for me when first getting into underwater photography. I believe you recognize it?
