There is a Inspiration on EBAY now. I contacted the seller about it and was told I could BUY IT NOW. If I offered an acceptable bid to him. He would close the auction. I offered $1800. He said for $2000 it was mine. And now has sent an address to Western Union the money.
Problems. His Info to send the check to. Isn't the info of the lady who uses the account.
The unit he say's is new. But selling for $2000? When it's now bid up to $7400?
Crooked to say the least. Be carefull. OH, He's said he already shipped it to me also. LOL
Be carefull out there. I can't contact EBAY. My computer won't let me. So if anybody can. It might keep someone from getting ripped off...

We've been having a bit of fun with the SOB pushing the price up so some dumb bunny doesn't go and actually part with any cash.
He tells me recently moved to Germany.
Check out the serial number he sent!! (http://www.yorkshire-divers.co.uk/cgi-bin/ikonboard/ikonboard.cgi?;act=ST;f=14;t=4259;hl=new;st=0)
Nice to see eBay working so hard to shut it down isn't it? Not.

I doubt they'll get him, though my fingers are crossed.
If you check the link again, you'll see that eBay finally put a stop to it. I just hope nobody got taken in by the swine. Buyer beware and all that..

As Rob pointed out, the page currently says: This seller is not currently offering any items for sale.
Be sure to spread the word whenever you spot those suspicious looking auctions.

... is why e-bay doesn't require serial numbers to be posted. Preferably with a picture. That would make it that much harder to misuse the auction. :upset:

A freind of mine recently discovered that she was selling a large number of very expensive digital cameras. She immediatley changed her password and contacted E-bay.
If you have an E-bay account I recommend using a password consiting of both letters and numbers as they are much harder to crack. I also recommend checking your account now and then to ensure someone is not using your account and your positive feedback to sell non existant items.

49 is Germany's country code, not England. I'm pretty sure because all my family still lives there. Just checked a German phone directory, the 160 area code after the country code is the T-mobile (D1) cellular net (in Germany cell numbers/services get their own area codes, rather than making whole areas change codes because they run out of numbers:rolleyes: )
Probably hard to trace the weasel.

Western Union. NEVER, EVER pay for anything off of eBay using Western Union. Its the first sign that something is funky. If the seller won't take a legitimate, tracable, recoverable method of payment, run like hell.
The internet is the biggest thing to happen in my lifetime, and eBay is the biggest thing to happen to the internet. I've done thousands and thousands of transactions on eBay. My music gear, 99% of my dive gear, fishing, camping, electronics, countless cameras, computers, fine silver, china, rare books, expedition wear, shoes, furniture, tickets, CD's, theatrical lighting, blah, blah, blah. too much to name here.
To remain eBay ignorant today is to your sad discredit. Treasures await you. However, this one point is not negotiable.
Never pay via Western Union. Never, ever, ever.

Never pay for anything on ebay with cash or check, only credit card.
When you see "Western Union" and eBay in the same place, think "scam" He might as well be offering gold bullion. You'll never see it.

Not even sure if that Zip code (UK postal code) is right, the Mole will know but I thought the London codes started with a "W". How about the shipping, he recons he's sent it, great just wait for it not to arrive. Nice scam though.

That post code is valid and it ties in with the address.
As someone else stated +44 is the UK telephone prefix with 49 being germany.
This guy is a scammer, googling his name produces only 2 hits (surprisingly - i get 2 or 3 pages for me) but both hits are warnings about him scamming on ebay:
That postal address turns out to be a motorcyle sales centre called "Carnell".
Their landline telephone number is:
02077032271 (from inside the UK) so
00442077032271 should do it from international
+442077032271 should get it from a mobile.
Hope that info is of some use and good luck.

The SE postcode would/could be ok - London postcodes go by W for West, S for south, etc etc, so SE would be southeast London.
Have any of you read this? Well worth a read - I laughed so much my belly hurt!!
