I have had DAN since I got certified. Never used PADI. Review the two policies and then make the decision that is right for you.

I have used my DAN. They paid 100% of the cost of the chamber ride. DAN also supports research on DCI and provides telephone help even to the uninsured and acts as a clearing house to all on the DCI information. So for me, I choose to support them.

It is cheap insurance.
 
There were some problems - that I won't go into here, but it looks like they've resolved them. An impressive 501(c)3 Non-profit organization that I'd want to support even if I got my insurance elsewhere.

But it's good that they have good competition, too.
