Hey everyone I am looking forward to learning all about the art of diving.

My name is David Little and I am a third year Product Design student at University of Teesside. In my final project I am looking to aim my project around underwater transportation or products/apparatus. With your experience in this field I was hoping you could give me some insight or problem areas that would be a good focus point. Any advice or problems that you or fellow divers have encountered. Or even ideas of future products would be great. If you would like to contact me please use either of the contact information. Thank you in advance for any help.

Yours Faithfully

David, I think you'll have to develop a little more of a concept before we can be of assistance.

There's a pretty active and growing group of manufacturers producing underwater transportation devices. You might take a look at the websites of Dive X-tras and Silent Submersion for examples. Issues are pretty clear -- weight, battery life, torque, size and balance, and ease of control. Another thing which might make interesting reading is the Tahoe Benchmark report for 2012.

Thanks for the feedback its been great help.
