Is it possible to still get software and drivers for the Wisdom dive computer? I purchased two of them new back in '07 and still have the original CD. After purchasing a new desktop computer with Windows 7 and trying to load the CD - Error 1911, and then downloading the drivers from the Sherwood website for Windows 7 (64 bit) and trying again I still get the the same error code.
I realize the computers are a little out dated but they have only needed to be replaced once (under warranty - thank you) and we do enjoy the ease of use. Any suggestions?
 
The dive computers are not causing the problem and as long as they work they are fine. I don't know if sherwood answered your question or not. Is it the software or device driver giving the error? I think the older wisdom2 software will work with the wisdom1.
 
Thanks for the reply NCadiver. I've not had anything from Sherwood, here or from the request I made directly on their website.

The error I get is "Error 1911 Could not register type library for file C:\windows\sysWOW64\flash.ocx Contact your support personel" as I am loading the software from the disk. It gives the option to retry (same error) or ignore. I "Ignore" and it completes the install. I can open the program but there are a lot of black boxes where there should be data from the "sample diver". I did download the updated driver from Sherwood (cable NOT plugged in) but when I go to download from the dive computers I get the infamous "USB interface not found"

Because the dive computers do work, I am reluctant to just dump them (the dive computers) to find something else that can be downloaded on a laptop or desktop. The information that is available and displayed on the Wisdom computer itself is excellent while diving and for filling out a logbook following the dive, but to be able download and review after returning from a one or two week dive vacation (we only get out 1 - 2 times a year) is the best part. To put a name, place, comment and physically "see" the dive a week or month later is just as important to me as having a working dive computer during the dive to help keep me safe.
 
the software is available on there site for DL you just have to make a log-in to access the support/Download section....thats where I got the software for my wisdom
 
just checked it and it says Wisdom 2 software but it works just find on my wisdom 1 (gray button)
 
Thanx Mud&Rox, I've been in communication with Sherwood (Cramer Decker Industries) and their Specialist was able to get everything up and loaded. It was basically just as you sugested, the Wisdom II software works with the original Wisdom.
All dives are downloaded, getting used to the new stuff, - Lifes Good!

I loved my wisdoms...amazing dive computers. Problem is they both started misreading tank pressure. I have 2 one for the wife and one for myself. hers was off by 400 to 500 PSI, while mine varied closer to the 300 PSI variance.
Apparently it would cost about the same price to fix as new ones........
they lasted almost 10 years......
