Does anyone know why the smaller set of slots are there? 2" webbing fits in the slots nicely but what would you thread through it? :idk:
 
Looks like one of the original plates he was probably playing around with. The plate itself was most likely cut before the Mach V wing was available, then the two inner slots were cut later on to work with the Mach V. The slots are where the tank cam bands pass thru. The outer two were the original slots used with a welded on half moon shaped deal mounted on the back of the plate to support the tank. Later on a rail was used to support the tank. I assume that plate has a rail? The newer plates come with a welded on rail and the slots cut like the inner slots on your plate. The upper slots were also elongated to allow wing height flexibility.
