Im planning on trying my first liveaboard in the Red Sea and have a few stupid questions.

Are the boats generally equiped with wireless?

Although functional the cabins look `compact`, in the evenings what do people generally do?

Wireless, yes. Hooked to the web. you'll have to call and ask the boat. If I am in the Florida Keys, I have wireless and broadcast it. If I am on Satellite, Not so much.

After 5 dives per day, you'll have a pint and sleep. That's what the cabins are for, sleeping. If a normal liveaboard, there will be at least one decent photographer and one decent Videographer. They will share their photos/videos with the rest of the passengers.

By and large you will do two things in your room. Sleep at night and nap between dives.

Typical liveaboards you will sleep, dive, eat, talk about diving, and look at pictures of cool stuff found on the last dive.

I'm actually doing a Red Sea liveaboard next week. I've never seen one that had wireless. The other responders are right..it will dive, eat, dive all day and you'll spend what free time you have either napping, talking to other guests, or reading a book. On quite a few LOBs I've been on people have been so tired after a long day of diving that they'll turn in by 9 pm. Sometimes depends on the make up of the group..I've been on a few where there will be a few people who stay up late and party, but that's more the exception I'd say

socialise?

agree with the other people regarding bed time... even with Nitrox after a day's diving I'll have a G&T after the last dive (a ritual of mine) and a wine with dinner, then usually straight to bed.
