Users of the glass flat port - how is it?

I have the acrylic macro port and wondering if I should change to the modular port. I already have the stalks for the 8" dome that I'd need to use with the 60mm or 105VR.

Do you like the new port? Can you tell a difference in photo quality? How easy is it to scratch the glass?

philmayer,

Photo quality is very similar between the two. Glass is much more scratch resistant than acrylic, but more expensive. Acrylic is closer in density to water than glass and has a very slight edge regarding light transmittal. Slight scratches on either surface will fill with water and normally not be seen when shooting underwater.

All of our domes are made of acrylic. You can see Ikelite customer photos here: Customer Photos
