We've been mentioning for the past two months that one of the problems this year is that we have to replace a compressor at our Chamber which will cost $27,000. last week we got a call from one of our donors who prefers to remain anonymous with a $5,000 pledge for compressor seed money.
But yesterday (Friday), we got an even more intriguing call from another donor who also prefers to remain anonymous. He said that since the balance needed was now $22,000, he'd be willing to put up as much as half of that - $11,000 - in a matching grant.
What that means is that when you donate $1,000, he matches it with another $1,000. You donate $100, he matches $100. All up to a maximum of $11,000. But time is really running short because we've only got until Wednesday night to get this done.
If you want to contribute to this match, here's what you do:
1. Go to www.chamberday.org .
2. Click on "Sign Up/Donate On-Line."
3. Enter the secure server.
4. Scroll down (not far) to "Chamber Challenge 2012".
5. Choose your amount.
6. In the box that says "Other Donation Assignment" write the word "Compressor."
7. Scroll to the bottom of the page and hit "Continue" to go to the payment page.
