G'morning Power Scuba members,

What an excellent weekend for diving! Stellar (40-60 feet) vis on our boat dive to Pt Loma on Saturday followed by a couple great dives in the semi-remote Scripps Canyon yesterday! If you couldn't join us look to our calendar as we have a lot of events planned for you.

First and foremost: We have an important event scheduled next Sunday called the Vets & Noobies dive. It's a single-tank event wherein we pair up a relatively new diver with a more-experienced diver who has strong buddy-skills. (You should fall into one of those two categories!) Every new diver deserves to know what it's like to not be abandoned or ignored. That's where you all come in. Whether you're a new diver or have a bit more experience PLEASE sign up for this event and make a strong statement about safety and fun!

There are two major "citizen scientist" orgs in So Cal: Reef.org and ReefCheck.org. They both teach you how to take fish surveys while you're down under. These surveys are desperately needed so we (the state and people of California) can get a good idea as to the health of our local fish and invertebrate populations. Check one (or both) of them out and perhaps take your diving to the next level.
