i will be staying at Hotel Cozumel in august, and was wondering if i would need a plug converter for my battery charger. / laptop ect... that is are the wall outlets 2 prong us type or something that will require an adapter / converter....
and will the local (hotel) dive shop fill a 40cf stage bottle? or should i just request a spare 80.....

Outlets are the same as in the USA, I always take a plug strip since most rooms don't have a lot of outlets. Just for convenience
Email Dive Paradise I'm they can get it filled but don't want to speak for them.

Don't know re the fill but the wall outlets are OK for US stye plugs. If you have a few things to plug in you might want to take a power bar. I don't think they have their own fill station but they should be able to get your tank filled, but maybe not right away.

I always carry a 110v adapter for 2 prong outlets for my 3 prong plug-ins including ground, but I don't remember ever having to use it. Their sockets will take the 3 prong plug-ins including ground - and a power strip helps, as said. As much water as divers are known to drip on floors, you really want things grounded...!
I always take my pony to my dive Op on arrival, early afternoon, as it has to go in with the afternoon tanks for overnight filling.

Here's a photo of a standard room and going from memory I'm pretty sure there's an outlet on the wall behind the suitcase, and I know there's one behind where I'm standing plus the one you can see.

And here's a tight crop of the outlet in that photo.

wow thanks, real photos too..... not my first time to coz but will be my first time staying for a week.....never thought to being a power strip..... thanks for that tip. hey are the room safes big enough to put a 17 wide laptop in or do the desk area there have a way to cable lock a laptop, or are the rooms secure enough to leave a unattended laptop in and not have it walk away......

Room safe is not big enough for your laptop, but the rooms are secure.

The tourist hotels may have three prong outlets but my experience is that most of Mexico uses two prong outlets. I would take an adapter just in case. I'd be curious to know if that third prong is actually wired up to a grounding loop or is just to make your plugs "fit". I wouldn't bet my life on the grounding protection.

Yeah, that ground hole may be fake.
BTW, I don't take a power strip actually. Just an extension cord with 3 - 3 plug outlets.
