I am attending a wedding in Samana in November and there are two lovely young women attending but flights are crazy expensive to Samana (from the SE USA). Since flights are half the price to Santo Domingo, I am inquiring for them on how safe the bus trip is from Santo Domingo to Samana for two women.

Does anybody have first hand experience with this route? Who did you book with? Cost? Time?

I would appreciate any information you may have because I want to dive with them when they get there so I need them to arrive safe and sound. Thank you for all you can offer to help them.

The bus is Caribe Tours. It's like RD$600 to get to the bus stop via taxi, and then the bus itself is RD$300. The bus is air conditioned ALOT, bring a sweatshirt. It's a 2 hour ride.

Be aware... The diving in Samana sucks. Green water, no fish. I dive there a lot. Not for the pretty reefs. ;)

Yes the bus is safe and very very cold, as posted above, make sure they have warm cloths.
