A hearty, warm welcome to all our new members. A SPECIAL welcome to those new members who've been out with us these past few weeks. We're glad to see all of you and hope this not-for-profit group will meet your Diving Jones needs!
This past weekend saw some amazing group dives. Saturday we did a beach dive in North County and saw 25' vis, a beautiful kelp forest, and a 7-gill shark. (Oh yeah, hundreds of lobsters too.) North of La Jolla is always more unpredictable, but when it's good it's really good.
Sunday we did Scripps Canyon and had a bar b q as well on the beach. 20-25' vis in the canyon and many swell sharks, sheephead, nudis, and rockfish... and a couple angel sharks. What a privilege and honor to dive this location! All in all a great diving weekend.
ON DECK WITH POWER SCUBA:
June 6 (Wed) @ 6 am: Early Morning la Jolla Cove Dive
June 8 (Fri) @ 6:30 pm: Massive Bonfire, Semi-Hawaiin Luau, and Dive. Bring your friends and family to this one. It's gonna be big! (The dive is optional.)
Ongoing: Our Power Scuba Logo T-Shirt and Gear Sale is going on now! Jump onboard and Represent before the no-profit sale goes away on June 17.
Ongoing: Each month we have a dedicated photo album on our group JUST FOR YOUR BEST ONE OR TWO RECENTLY-TAKEN U/W PICS. Go there and upload pics or simply view the assorted lot!
SEPT 16: SAVE THE DATE! Our End of Summer Picnic and Dive has a date and place. We're going back to the wonderful North Island (Coronado) beach, Breakers, on the Naval Air Station. Power Scuba will be springing for some food and drink, so plan on coming out for the festivities! Mark it on your calendar right now! (Event page TBP.)
SAFETY NOTE: Did you know you can practice (with your buddy) virtually ANY of the skills you learned in open water class? Actually, you SHOULD practice them often. When's the last time you did an air sharing drill with your buddy?
