There has been discussion on wetpixel as to whether a D80 fits the D90 housing. Nobody seems to have tried it. We know from your answer to a previous question that the D90 works passably in the D80 housing (i.e. allows access to the on/off switch and main and subcommand dials) but is the reverse also true? If so, a D80 would provide a useful, cheap, back-up for D90 owners.

John,

I have been informed that the D80 will not function in the D90 housing. Most of the controls will not line up, but most importantly the lens is off-centered in the housing port hole opening.
