I'm planning on going abalone hunting for the first time and was wondering if anyone had any specific suggestions or hacks!

I was looking at this for instance: Amazon.com: Scuba Diving Abalone Tool with Measurement Marked: Sports & Outdoors

I'm an advanced scuba diver (PADI DM, 300+ dives), but not a great free diver..so any suggestions would be much appreciated! I've been wanting to try abalone hunting for ages!
