The Missile Tower is close to San Diego, but most divers never get to see it. The Marissa charter boat requires you have certs in Deco Procedures and Advanced Nitrox at a minimum. Come get a bit deeper with us as we explore these exciting sites! This will be a two-tank semi-local technical trip aboard a well-appointed charter boat. You'll have all your own gear for this one. The boat provides food and drinks between dives.
COST: $137.49 (Paypable via Paypal after you RSVP on the right.) I dropped a couple spots off the boat loadout to give us a bit more elbow room.
BOARDING TIME: 7 am
DIVE SITES
- Missile Tower: Large, toppled over Trident/Polaris missile tower laying in the sand at 160' of depth. Very intact. Structure is about 60 feet high and 25 feet wide. Covered in white tube anemones (metridiums). The Missile Tower is part of the California Fish and Game artificial reef program and was sunk in 1992. Close to the US/Mexican border.
- Wreck of the Hogan: Wickes-class destroyer laying on a mostly sandy bottom in 130' of depth. Direction orientation is roughly North-East/South-West. Close to the US/Mexico border. Wreck is mostly collapsed, though bow and stern have some structure to them. Very easy to follow the ships centerline and lots of things to explore. Wolf eels seen here in the past. Currents possible.
