I just did a photo course with a nik v and was told if I wanted to get sunbeams in the water I would have to go to 1/25, no its not supposed to but I gave it a go and it worked. I was told it works most of the time but now and again it fails. Try it

The nikonos III with M and MF bulbs syncs at 1/30, FP bulbs 1/500-1/60, speedlights 1/60, 1/30 and B.
shutter is vertical travel (downward) focal plane type, speed 1/30 to 1/500 and B.
